Tavern Tale Studio is a young company, formalized in 2021 after being selected in a government funding program about inovation and entrepreneurship ("StartBSB"). It started in 2018 as a voluntary game development group, becoming known in the local ecossystem and being present in the board of the local game developer association. With two games released on the market, we are currently working on our third project and on our Patreon games. Our company philosophy is to provide fun and unforgettable experiences and stories to our players with accessibility being present bottom-up in the design. We have a focus, but are not limited to, games with narrative, procedural generation and complex systems.

Speedrun Squid

SpeedrunSquid is a whacky, physics-based, plataforming game with arcade elements. Take control of a hungry squid exploring the ocean floor, grappling through rocks, perilous terrain and other dangerous sea dwellers. Reach for that ever-higher score, try to go faster, make crazy maneuvers and acquire awesome (or stupid) skins for your Squid.

Released on May 2021

The Game, back in it's early stages of development, was played by digital influencer CDawgVA in a video who reached over a million views, which, coupled with his great remarks on the game's potential, made this project such a fun endeavor to work on.

MACE: Mapinguari's Temple is a multiplayer, horror game with adventure and social deduction elements. Venture into a maze-like, procedurally generated dungeon filled with puzzles, avoid the terrible creature that roams it's corridors and discover who is the deceitful cultist among you.

Silent Depths

Silent Depths is a roguelike, strategy and exploration game, with horror and survival elements. Inspired by retrofuturistic and horror fiction, the game takes place in an apocalyptic underwater world where all of Earth's landmasses were swallowed by the sea, and what remains of humanity now lives aboard gigantic submarines named "Arks", scavenging the submerged wastelands for resources and fighting for their lives against pirates, mutated creatures and otherworldly entities.
The project was approved over 700 other projects in a innovation and entrepeneurship award, Start BSB, and received funding for it's initial conception. It was also selected for FAC Multicultural, a culture funding program from Brasília's government.
Silent Dephts is also being made with accessibility in mind since its inception, as one of Tavern Tales goals is to make games that can be played by as many people as possible, with good design choices and accessibility features.

Dreadstone Keep

Dreadstone Keep is a turn-based strategy roguelike where the player must defeat the two powerful bosses that rule the ancient castle. With a great range of possible upgrades, secrets and pixel art enemies, be tactical to make your decisions and explore the Dreadstone Keep.
This game is in development, currently in a vertical slice stage. It has been showcased in Rock in Rio 2022 at the Game Jam Plus/Indie Hero booth and at the Brasília Game Festival, where we received positive and valuable feedback.
